We had a fantastic visit with Billy & Gina last night! We are praising God for the healing Billy is experiencing. If you haven’t been to visit in the last few days, you really should go by. Here’s a couple of highlights of the last few days:
- Saturday, Billy decided he was, as the nurse last night put it, “done with” the trach tube. He just reached up and started pulling it out. The doctor happened to come by just around that time, looked at Billy’s O2 saturation (the amount of oxygen in the blood) and said it looked like Billy was doing fine without it, so the trach is GONE!! No more rasping to say a few words; Billy is “unplugged”, and talking up a pretty fair storm.
- Yesterday, Billy was able to take a few steps (using the parallel bars for support).
- He’s been too swollen to wear his wedding ring, but yesterday while we were there he decided he wanted to try it on again. It wouldn’t fit, but his fine motor control was good enough that he had no trouble at all hitting the finger.
Here’s a picture that was taken Sunday, with Billy & Gina and Gina’s mother:

God continues to work as we continue to pray. May He bless you all for the love you’ve shown to the Patty family.
