The news continues to improve! Leah spoke with Gina a little while ago; here’s what she emailed me:
Talked to Gina. She said that the doc has cut his meds in half and are giving them less often. He has moved to once every 6 hours instead of 4. He is trying to open his eyes and has gotten them half open. He does respond to voices by squeezing their hands. I don’t know if there is any recognition other than familiar voices. He will wiggle his toes when they ask him to.
Also, someone pointed out to me this morning that I’ve neglected a very important prayer need from this blog. I know many of us are praying for Theresa, Billy’s sister; but I should long ago have asked those who aren’t as close to the situation to join us in those prayers. For those who don’t know her, she is a very sweet lady who loves her brother very much, and is devastated by his injury. She is married and has children, and is having to simultaneously meet her household’s needs and be there for Billy. Pray for her physical, emotional and mental strength during this time, and be sure to love on her when you go to visit Gina. You can send messages to her at Gina’s email, too.
